defterdar|dɛftəˈdɑːr| Also 6–7 teftadar, teftader, 7–8 tefterdar, 9 defturdar. [Turk. f. defter (see dufter) + Pers. -dar holding.] A Turkish officer of finance, esp. the accountant general of a province; also formerly, the Turkish minister of finance.
