‖ stilo novo Obs. [mod.L., abl. of stilus novus new style.] Appended to a date: = ‘New Style’, i.e. according to the reformed (or Gregorian) calendar: see style. Also fig. or allusive. Similarly stilo vetere (abbreviated st. v.) = ‘Old Style’.
