‖ stomodæum, -eum Embryology and Zool.|stɒməʊˈdiːəm| Pl. -æa, -ea |-ˈiːə|. [mod.L. irreg. f. Gr. στόµα mouth + ὁδαῖος that is on or by the road.] The anterior portion of the digestive tract, beginning as an invagination of the epiblast.
