depuratory, a. (n.)|dɪˈpjʊərətərɪ| [mod. f. ppl. stem of dēpūrāre: see -ory.] A. adj. = depurative a.; formerly spec. ‘applied to certain diseases which were supposed to carry off impurities from the system’ (Syd. Soc. Lex.).
