dhandh|dænd| Also dandh, dhand. [Sindhi.] A lake or swamp of the territorial division of Sind in India.
1851R. F. Burton Sindh i. 11 Numerous channels..carry off the surplus water, feeding and refilling the lakes and dandhs, whose moisture has evaporated during the cold season. 1887Encycl. Brit. XXII. 91/1 In the cold season the lakes or dhandhs are covered with wild geese, kulang, ducks, teal, curlew, and snipe. 1926Blackw. Mag.
