Streptothrix Bacteriology.|ˈstrɛptəʊθrɪks| Pl. -thrices |-ˈθraɪsiːz|. [mod.L., f. Gr. στρεπτό-ς twisted (see strepto-) + θρίξ hair.] A genus of bacteria, comprising organisms having branching filaments growing in interlacing masses; a micro-organism of this genus or type.
