† diamictonic, a. and n. Min. Obs.|ˌdaɪəmɪkˈtɒnɪk| [f. Gr. *διαµικτός, vbl. adj. from διαµιγνύναι to mix up (cf. µικτός, f. µιγνύναι); after plutonic, etc.] Applied by Pinkerton to a ‘domain’ or division of minerals consisting of various substances intimately combined. b. as n. A mineral belonging to this ‘domain’.
