diaschisis Path.|daɪˈæskɪsɪs| [mod.L., a. G. diaschisis (K. von Monakow 1906, in Neurologisches Centralblatt XXV. 1030), ad. Gr. διάσχισις division, f. διασχίζ-ειν (see diaschisma).] A loss of functional activity in a region of the nervous system, resulting from injury to some other connected region of the system.
