† ˈdiascord Pharm. Obs. Usually in L. form diaˈscordium. [medical L. diascordium (also mod.F.), for diascordiōn, from Gr. διὰ σκορδίων (a preparation) of σκόρδιον scordium, a strong-smelling plant mentioned by Dioscorides, ‘perhaps water-germander Teucrium Scordium’: see dia-2.] A medicine made of the dried leaves of Teucrium Scordium, and many other herbs.
