Acherontic, a.|ækəˈrɒntɪk| [ad. L. acherontic-us adj. f. Acheron, -ontem.] Of or belonging to Acheron, infernal; hence, dark, gloomy; also, waiting to cross the river of death, tottering on the brink of the grave, moribund.
