dibenzanthracene Chem.|ˌdaɪbɛnˈzænθrəsiːn| [f. dibenzo- + anthracene.] Any of several hydrocarbon derivatives of anthracene with a molecular structure consisting of five fused benzene rings and the formula C22H14; spec. 1, 2, 5, 6-dibenzanthracene, a colourless crystalline compound, present in coal tar and tobacco smoke, and having carcinogenic properties.
