Gr. δίχροος, -ως two-coloured (f. δι- two + χρώς colour, complexion) + -ic.] Having or showing two colours; spec. applied to doubly-refracting crystals that exhibit different colours when viewed in different directions; or to solutions that show essentially different colours in different degrees of concentration.
