dimyary, a. and n. Zool.|ˈdɪmɪərɪ| [f. mod.L. dimyārius (Dimyāria name of group), f. Gr. δι- twice + µῦ-ς muscle (lit. ‘mouse’): see -ary1.] A. adj. Double-muscled: said of those bivalve molluscs which have two adductor muscles for closing the shell. Also dimyarian |dɪmɪˈɛərɪən| a. B. n. A dimyary bivalve.
