diogenite, n. Geol.|daɪˈɒdʒɪnaɪt| [ad. G. Diogenit (M. G. Tschermak 1883, in Sitzungsber. K. Akad. Wissensch. LXXXVIII. i. 366), f. Gr. Διογενής descended from Zeus: see -ite1.] Any of a group of calcium-poor achondrite meteorites that consist mainly of hypersthene or bronzite.
