diorite Min.|ˈdaɪəraɪt| [a. F. diorite (Haüy), irreg. f. διορίζ-ειν to distinguish + -ite.] A variety of greenstone, consisting of hornblende combined with a triclinic feldspar (albite or oligoclase).
