diphenyl Chem.|daɪˈfɛnɪl| [f. di-2 + phenyl, F. phényle (f. ϕαίνειν to show, bring to light + ὕλη substance: see -yl.] An aromatic hydrocarbon having the formula C6H C6H5, or twice that of the radical phenyl.
