† ˈSuada Obs. [L. Suāda, fem. of suādus persuasive, f. root swād- (see suave). Cf. G. suada, suade (colloq.) gift of the gab.] The Roman goddess of persuasion; hence = persuasiveness, persuasive eloquence.
