‖ discobolus Class. Antiq.|dɪˈskɒbələs| Also erron. -bulus. [L., a. Gr. δισκοβόλος discus-thrower, f. δίσκος disc, discus + -βολος -throwing, -thrower, f. ablaut-grade of βάλλειν to throw.] A thrower of the discus; an ancient statue representing a man in the act of throwing the discus.
