sucupira|ˌsʊkəˈpiːərə| [a. Pg., f. Tupi sucupira.] A dark brown hardwood obtained from trees of the genus Bowdichia or Diplotropis, both native to South America, esp. Brazil, and belonging to the family Leguminosæ; also, a tree of either of these genera.
