dissymmetrical, a.|dɪssɪˈmɛtrɪkəl| [dis- 10.] a. The opposite of symmetrical. b. Symmetrical, but in opposite directions, like the two hands. In Chem. said spec. of crystals having two corresponding forms, but turned in different directions (like an object and its reflexion in a mirror); also of molecules in which the atoms are supposed to be thus arranged.
