ditone Mus.|ˈdaɪtəʊn| [ad. Gr. δίτον-ον the ancient major third, neuter of δίτονος, f. δι-, di-2 + τόνος tone.] An interval containing two whole tones; a major third; esp. the Pythagorean major third in ancient Greek music, consisting of two major tones (ratio 81:64).
