supraopticohypophysial, a. Anat.|s(j)uːprəˌɒptɪkəʊhaɪpəʊˈfɪzɪəl| Also -eal. [f. supraoptic adj. s.v. supra- 1 b + -o + hypophysial a.] Applied to a tract of nerve fibres in the brain running from the supraoptic nucleus to the hypophysis.
