[ad. early mod.G. schwermer (mod. schwärmer), a favourite word of Luther's, esp. for the Anabaptists, f. schwermen, schwärmen to swarm, rove, riot, rave (see swarm n.).]
A sectarian, fanatic. Hence † swerˈmerian in the same sense.
