symˌpathicoˈtonia Physiol. Also anglicized as symˌpathicoˈtony. [f. sympathico- + -tonia.] The state or condition in which there is increased influence of the sympathetic nervous system and heightened sensitivity to adrenalin. Also sympaˌtheticoˈtonia, -ˈtonus, in the same sense.
