synallagmatic, a.|sɪnælægˈmætɪk| [ad. Gr. συναλλαγµατικός, f. συνάλλαγµα covenant, contract, f. συναλλάσσειν (see prec.).] Pertaining to or of the nature of a contract or mutual engagement; imposing mutual obligations; reciprocally binding: esp. in Civil Law, of a treaty or the like.
