synallaxine, a. Ornith.|sɪnæˈlæksaɪn, -ɪn| [ad. mod.L. Synallaxinæ pl., f. Synallaxis (Vieillot, 1819), name of the typical genus: see -ine1.] Belonging to the subfamily Synallaxinæ of dendrocolaptine birds, found in tropical America, in habits and appearance resembling tree-creepers.
