Syriarch|ˈsɪrɪɑːk| [ad. L. Syriarcha, -archus, a. Gr. συριάρχης, f. συρία Syria + -αρχης ruling, ἄρχειν to rule.] The director of public games in Syria under the Romans, who was at the same time the chief priest.
