electroless, a. Manuf.|ɪˈlɛktrəʊlɪs| [f. electro- + -less.] Of, pertaining to, or designating a method of plating by chemical rather than electrical means, usually involving the catalytic reduction of the plating metal in solution, with the object to be coated acting as catalyst.
