tag sale, n. N. Amer. Brit. |ˈtag ˌseɪl|, U.S. |ˈtæg ˌseɪl| [‹ tag n.1 + sale n.2] 1. A sales promotion by a retailer during which items bearing a particular tag are sold at a reduced price. Chiefly with modifying adjective specifying the colour of the tag; esp. in red tag sale.
