epiphyllum, n. Bot.|ɛpɪˈfɪləm| [a. mod.L. Epiphyllum.] Any cactus of the tropical American genus Epiphyllum, the members of which have flattened stems bearing large fragrant usu. red or yellow flowers; also used in Hort. of hybrids resembling these, grown from crosses either with members of Epiphyllum or with the species Nopalxochia phyllanthoides.
