read-mostly, a. Computers.|riːdˈməʊstlɪ| [f. read v. + mostly adv.] Applied to a memory whose contents can be changed, though not by program instructions, but which is designed on the basis that such changes will be very infrequent compared with the number of occasions when the contents are read.
