‖ thalamencephalon Anat.|ˌθæləmɛnˈsɛfəlɒn| [f. thalamo- + encephalon.] That part of the brain which develops from the posterior part of the anterior cerebral vesicle, and includes the optic thalami, optic nerves, and parts about the third ventricle.
