a. Water, i.e. either natural tears, or an abnormal overflow (stillicidium), ‘tear in the eye’, flowing from the eye. Rare in pl.
b. A lotion for the eye.
c. The humours (aqueous or vitreous) of the eye.
d. slang. = Gin.
