Falange|faˈlanxe, fəˈlɑːnʒ, -ˈlænʒ| [Sp., phalanx.] A Spanish political party, founded in 1933 as a Fascist movement by J. A. Primo de Rivera and merged in 1937 with traditional right-wing elements to form the ruling party, the Falange Española Tradicionalista, under General Franco. Hence Faˈlangism; Faˈlangist n. and a.
