‖ proaulion Archæol.|prəʊˈɔːlɪən| [a. Gr. προαύλιον a vestibule, f. πρό, pro-2 + αὐλή a court, with dim. ending -ιον.] A portico or colonnade outside a church or temple, opening into the narthex.
