ˈtight-ass, n. (and a.) slang (orig. and chiefly U.S.). Also tight-arse. [Back-formation from next.] An inhibited or strait-laced person; occas. a stingy person, a skinflint. Freq. attrib. passing into adj. = next; occas. applied (lit.) to clothes: fitting tightly around the buttocks.
