Tilley lamp|ˈtɪlɪ læmp| Also (erron.) Tilly lamp, and with small initial. [f. the name of the manufacturing company.] The proprietary name of a type of portable oil or paraffin lamp in which air pressure is used to supply the burner with fuel. Also ellipt. as Tilley.
