tirodite Min.|tɪˈrəʊdaɪt| [f. Tirodi, name of a village in Madhya Pradesh, India + -ite1.] A monoclinic mineral, Mn2Mg5Si8O22(OH)2, of the amphibole group which forms a series with dannemorite (Mn2Fe5Si8O22(OH)2); also, any member of this series having more magnesium than iron.
