1. A strengthening; a reinforcement. (See afforce 5.)
1818Hallam Middle Ages (1872) II. 399 This afforcement it appears could only be made with the consent of the parties. 1874Stubbs Const. Hist. I. xiii. 619 The jurors summoned were allowed to add to their number persons who possessed the requisite knowledge, under the title of afforcement.
