probenecid Pharm.|prəʊˈbɛnɪsɪd| [f. propyl + benzoic a. + -e- + acid a. and n.] A white, crystalline, bitter-tasting powder which is a uricosuric agent used esp. to treat gout; p-(di-n-propylsulphamoyl)benzoic acid, (C3H7)2NSO2·C6H4COOH.
