1. A sum to be deducted from another; a discount.
1542Recorde Gr. Artes E iij, The rebatemente or summe to bee withdrawen..muste be sette vnder the fyrste [sum]. 1635R. Dafforne Merch. Mirr. title-p., The Ready mony..that we are to Receive or Pay upon Rebatement. 1687Addr. from Chichester in Lond.
