probouˈleutic, a. Gr. Hist.
[f. Gr. πρό, pro-2 + βουλευτικός belonging to the βουλή or council, deliberative: cf. προβουλεύειν to pass a preliminary decree.]
That deliberates preliminarily; spec. applied to the Athenian senate, which discussed measures before they were submitted to the Assembly.
