† trailye, ˈtrailȝe Sc. Obs. Also 5 trelȝe, 5–6 treilȝe, 6 treilie. [app. a. OF. treillis, var. of treslis, trelis, treslie, tresli, ‘tissu à maille’, net-work; cf. mod.F. treillis glazed calico, also sack-cloth; but the Sc. word was evidently applied to some finer fabric.] A kind of cloth. (See also trellis n.1) Also attrib.
