In poker, a flush containing only four (instead of five) cards, and hence almost worthless; a bob-tail flush. Hence attrib. or as adj., lacking in genuineness. So four-flush v. intr., to act in a ‘bluffing’ or fraudulent manner; chiefly as four-flushing vbl. n. and ppl. a.
