A formative of names of compounds containing three radical groups formed from the benzene or phene group, C6H6, by loss of hydrogen atoms; e.g. triˈphenazine, C6H4{btr1}N{bbr1}{bbr1}Ṅ{btr1}C6H2{btr1}N{bbr1}{bbr1}Ṅ{btr1}C6H4.
