furanose Chem.|ˈfjʊərənəʊz, -s| [f. furan + -ose2.] A structure containing a furan ring thought to be sometimes assumed by monosaccharide sugars that contain four or more carbon atoms; also, a sugar having this structure. Freq. attrib., as furanose form, furanose ring, etc.
