trollius|ˈtrɒlɪəs| Also Trollius. [mod.L. (J. C. Buxbaum Plantarum Minus Cognitarum Centuria I (1728) 15): see troll flower.] A perennial herb of the genus of this name, belonging to the family Ranunculaceæ, native to Europe, Asia, and North America, and bearing yellow or orange globe-shaped flowers.
