Trousseau2 Med.|truso| [The name of A. Trousseau (1801–67), French physician, who described the sign in 1862 (Clin. Med. de l'Hôtel-Dieu de Paris II. xliv. 113).] Trousseau's sign: spasm of a muscle evoked by pressure on the nerve supplying it, as seen in cases of tetany.
