gallivant, v.|gælɪˈvænt, ˈgæ-| Also galavant, galivant. [Perhaps a humorous perversion of gallant v. Usually in the pres. part. gallivanting.] intr. To gad about in a showy fashion, esp. with persons of the other sex. Also merely = flirt.
