A variety of black grape, native to the Beaujolais region of France but now widely cultivated elsewhere, and used to make a fruity red wine, either alone or blended with Pinot Noir; the vine producing this grape, or the wine made from it. Also occas.: = Gamay-Beaujolais n. at Compounds.
